If you are interested in pre-planning for yourself or your family, please review the following frequently asked questions.
Making pre-need arrangements offers a variety of benefits. While many invest in end-of-life planning in the form of retirement funds and wills, burial planning is often left out of the equation. Yet neglecting this important step can leave your loved ones with the stress and cost of making arrangements during an already difficult time. Pre-need arrangements offer peace of mind, ensuring that your family can mourn together rather than shopping around for a cemetery lot.
As a municipally owned and operated, non-profit, non-denominational cemetery, we offer final resting places for people of all faiths and walks of life.
Please note that animals, even beloved family pets, are not permitted to be buried in the cemetery.
We will work with you to honour your wishes, whatever they may be. We are committed to serving our clients and are able to accommodate cremation and standard casket burials as well as memorials without remains. If you have not yet made a decision about your interment preferences, we are happy to walk you through the available options.
It is important to realize that you do not actually own the plot or niche you purchase. You are purchasing a perpetual lease with rights of use. The common term is "right of interment". You do, however, own any marker or monument that you purchase and place on the lot.
Town Staff routinely maintain the cemetery grounds, including grass cutting, trimming and roadway snow removal. Maintenance of artificial floral arrangements or plantings are the responsibility of the interment rights holders or decedents.
If you are a descendant of the original interment rights holder (purchaser) of a plot in the cemetery, you, your spouse, and your descendants most likely have rights of interment on that plot. Contact Cemetery Staff and we will be happy to assist you with establishing your rights of interment.
To schedule an appointment to tour available plots and niches, please contact Cemetery Staff. If you wish to learn more about cemeteries or general options, please email us or contact the cemetery office and we will be happy to answer your questions and provide guidance.
Please call 519-599-3131 ext. 281 and leave a message with your name and phone number, indicating you have an urgent cemetery request.
