The Town has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) to evaluate and select the preferred solution to address the Town’s Water Storage and Distribution System needs in the settlement areas of Camperdown, Thornbury and Lora Bay. The project will follow the MCEA (Schedule ‘B’) process to evaluate various alternative solutions to meet the Town’s current and future needs.
The study will consider the social, environmental and financial impacts of each alternative. As part of the MCEA process, the public and key stakeholders will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback. Once the preferred solution is identified, the Town will develop preliminary engineering designs.
The study and preliminary design were completed in Early 2021. The purpose of the assessment is to determine the water storage requirements for the west side service area. The report documents the findings of Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA and includes a review of background information, identification of the problem and opportunity statement, and selection of the preferred servicing alternative. The report is now available to be viewed online.
A virtual Public Information Centre was held on June 17th, 2021 from 5-7 pm through Microsoft Teams. A recording of the meeting can be viewed online.
