If you are a new resident of The Blue Mountains, you can purchase your Blue Bin and Green Bin at the Town Hall (32 Mill Street in Thornbury) or from the landfill site (788090 Grey Road 13, Clarksburg).

The Town offers curbside waste, recycling, and green bin collection. Each household is allowed one free bag/can of garbage each week. Additional bag tags are available for sale at $2.00 per tag. Only one additional tagged bag is allowed each to a maximum of two bags each week.

Green bins and recycling bins (blue and grey) are available for sale at Town Hall and the Landfill Site.

If you have a stationary curbside garbage box you need to use the Waste TAB indicator. These TABs are installed on your stationary curbside garbage box and are available for pick up at Town Hall (32 Mill Street Thornbury) or the Landfill Site.
TAB indicators are available for a cost of $2.00 each.
Stationary curbside garbage boxes can be purchased at many hardware stores. Ensure that prior to placing a stationary curbside garbage box within the Town Road Allowance that the location of the box will not interfere with Town maintenance activities. It would be appropriate to use the Same Day Health Care Clinic if you are in need of urgent (NON emergency) care and if your family doctor (or other clinician) is unavailable.

Depending on where you are located within the Town, the options for these services will vary.
Rogers and Bell both provide internet, phone, and cable service in areas throughout the Town, but will need to be contacted to ensure that your specific address is serviced.
Shaw Direct also offers satellite services in more rural areas where cable is not available.

Septic records older than January 1, 2010 are available through the Grey Bruce Health Unit at 519-376-9420.
Septic records post January 1, 2010 are retained at the Town and are available by contacting Building Services at 519-599-3131 ext 290 or by email. We will require your municipal address and the legal description of the property you are seeking records for.
Well records are available from the Government of Ontario, with data from 1899 to the present. Records are available online through a well record map catalogue.
If you require a Post Office Box, General Mail Delivery, or a Rural Delivery (and already have a mail box at the end of your driveway), you must register with Canada Post. Please contact the Thornbury Canada Post Office at 519-599-2212, and they can provide you with information and instructions about how you can begin to receive mail.

Canada Post Rural Mailbox Guidelines and Specifications
If you live in a rural location and do not have a mailbox at the end of your driveway, please ensure that prior to placing a mailbox within the Town Road Allowance that the location of the mailbox will not interfere with Town maintenance activities. Property Tax Bills are mailed twice a year (March and August), with four billing due dates throughout the year.

Questions about your assessment? Your assessment is provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), which is overseen by the Province of Ontario.
