What to do when someone dies is a website maintained by the Province of Ontario that provides answers to common questions about what to do, and what support is available, when a loved one dies in Ontario.

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is responsible for protection of the public interest and administers provisions of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.  

The BAO regulates and supports licensed funeral establishments, cemetery operators, crematorium operators, transfer service operators, funeral directors, funeral preplanners, transfer service sales representatives, cemetery sales representatives, and crematorium sales representatives across Ontario.

Bereaved Families of Ontario provides compassionate non-denominational mutual aid support for families and individuals who have lost a significant person to death. 

Consumer Information Guide to Funerals, Burials and Cremation Services is a free guide provided by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario that helps consumers know their rights before entering into contracts with organizations that are licensed under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act. 

Grief Net is an non-profit coporation that provides an internet community of people coping with grief, death and loss. Support programs are available for both adults and children. 

Ontario Psychological Association maintains a search directory to help connect grieving individuals and families with trained psychologists in Ontario.
