Fire Services

The Blue Mountains Fire Services Department is responsible for providing fire and rescue services, emergency preparedness, and fire prevention for our community.  Public education is the first step towards providing fire safety. Fire Services provides the highest level of life safety and property protection to our community.

The VISION of The Blue Mountains Fire Department is:
To provide the citizens of The Blue Mountains with pro-active, effective and efficient delivery of fire, rescue, public education and fire prevention services; through a unified forward thinking organization with good morale and with the highest standards of personnel safety, fairness and professionalism.

Services provided to the public include:

  • Fire safety inspections, fire prevention and public fire safety education
  • Emergency planning and preparedness
  • Enforcement of the Ontario Fire Code, Fire Protection and Prevention Act, municipal by-laws, and fire control activities
  • Plans review and new building construction inspections

Our Firefighters are fully trained in the following:

  • Auto Extrication
  • Cold Water Rescue
  • High Angle Rescue
  • Confined Space Rescue
  • Farm Machinery Rescue
