Agricultural Advisory Committee Page

This Agricultural Advisory Committee is responsible for providing input to the Town regarding agricultural activities in order to manage the Economic Development of the Town.

CAO Hiring Sub-Committee of Council Page

By resolution on March 11, 2019 Council appointed a CAO Hiring Sub-Committee to work with the appropriate parties to define the terms and conditions needed to implement Option 5 of Staff Report FAF.19.038, in co-ordination with the Director of Human Resources as a Staff Resource.

The Community Recovery Task Force's current composition is:

Grants and Donations Committee Page

The Grants and Donations Committee will be responsible for raising funds to support the Grants and Donations program and for receiving, reviewing and approving grants and donations applications based on the grant criteria and application process approved by Council.

The Joint Municipal Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee's current composition is:

  • Two members of Council, representing  one (1) vote

Leisure Activities Plan Steering Committee Page

The Leisure Activities Plan Steering Committee (Steering Committee) has been established to advise Council, Administration and Consultant/Project Management Team on specific matters as they pertain to the preparation and delivery of the 2020 Leisure Activities Plan update.

Membership shall consist of the following:

  • One Member of The Blue Mountains Council
  • Six Members of the public, preferably equally split between property owners that do not primarily reside in The Blue Mountains and residents that primarily reside in The Blue Mountains

Museum Advisory Committee Page

This is no longer a committee of Council, but of The Blue Mountains Library Board as of February 2017.

Police Services Board Page

The Police Services Boards govern the municipal police forces and in the case of O.P.P. contract locations, serve as advisory bodies. Based on the last enumeration, the composition of the Town Police Services Board is currently determined as three.

The Police Services Board current composition is:

  • One member of Council (Mayor)
  • One member of the Public (appointed by Council)
  • One Provincial Appointment

Property Standards Committee Page

The Property Standards Committee's current composition is:

  • Three members of Council

Public Art Committee Page

This is no longer a committee of Council, but of The Blue Mountains Library Board.

The Public Art Policy concentrates efforts on special programs related to the goals and procedures of the Town toward public art, including the Municipal Art Program.

Rural Access to Broadband Internet Technology (RABIT) Task Force Page

The Rural Access to Broadband Internet Technology (RABIT) Task Force current composition is:

Sign By-law Review Committee Page

The Sign By-law Committee is no longer a Committee of Council. The responsibilities previously held by the Sign By-law Committee have been moved to the Committee of Adjustment.

The Sustainability Advisory Committee's current composition is:

The Blue Mountains Attainable Housing Corporation Page

The purpose of The Blue Mountains Attainable Housing Corporation is to augment the supply of healthy and sustainable ownership and rental housing units in The Blue Mountains which are affordable to a larger portion of the population.

Code of Conduct for Members of Council and Local Boards

The Municipal Act, 2001 authorizes municipalities to establish codes of conduct for Members of Council and Local Boards. The Code of Conduct sets minimum standards for the behaviour of Council Members in carrying out their functions.

The Code of Conduct is developed to assist Council to:

  • Understand the standards of conduct that are expected of them and the law that applies in relation to these standards;
  • Fulfill their duty to act honestly and exercise reasonable care and diligence; and
  • Act in a way that enhances public confidence in local government.

The Town has also established a Protocol Policy for Complaints Related to Council Members and Local Boards.
