Municipal Law Enforcement Services includes canine animal control. We help to ensure that owners take responsibility for their dogs' actions so they can be a positive addition to our neighbourhoods.
On becoming a dog owner, or on or before March 15th every year, each dog must be registered with the Animal Control Officer. Owners must pay the fee and procure a metal dog tag showing the serial number and year of issue.
Registration Requires:
All dog tag records are retained by the Town’s Animal Control Officer.
All dog licences expire on the 31st day of March in the year after issue.

First neutered/spayed dog | $20.00 |
Second and each additional neutered/spayed dog | $25.00 |
Neutered/spayed and micro-chipped dogs | $15.00 |
Replacement tag | $10.00 |
All dogs must be leashed when not on their owner’s property. The only exception is Moreau Dog Park at 76 Victoria Street South – Our enclosed dog park includes a staging area and a 150' wide by 180' long open green space for dogs and their owners to run and play.
Anyone who wishes to operate a dog kennel must obtain an approved Dog Kennel Licence.
